3rd Shift Quality Technician Job Description As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for testing finished products during and after production, as well as conducting warehouse inspections. You will utilize your knowledge of manufacturing specifications, product testing equipment, and equipment calibration to ensure quality standards are met. The role requires proficiency in reading close tolerance gauges, meters, and tape measures. Responsibilities + Facer sampling + Perform various types of testing, including foam core density, dimensional stability, cold box, facer peel (adhesion) + Conduct attribute testing for aesthetics + Input data into the quality assurance database/ SAP and SAPI system + Conduct factor tests and warehouse unit inspections + Write up and utilize T3P's + Maintain housekeeping of the plant inside and out + Assist in training new team members + Monitor and understand the Mahlo system + Fill in other areas of the plant as required Essential Skills + Previous experience in quality testing (2+ years) + Strong knowledge of computer systems and office equipment + Proficiency with measurement gauges including calipers, tape measures, scales, thermal conductivity machines, various thickness measurement devices, and freezer temperature probes + Knowledge of manufacturing/processing specifications and quality standards for products + Experience with product test equipment operation + Knowledge of safety aspects of equipment and plant safety policies + Understanding of the consequences of sending incorrect/defective products + Forklift certification required Additional Skills & Qualifications + Willingness to learn and adapt + Understanding of non-conforming product protocols + Experience with defect tracking and calibration Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with over 75 employees working between the office and production floor. The facility features sit-down forklifts and various machines including saws and slitters. It is an open-door facility with trucks frequently loading and unloading products. Candidates should be comfortable working in varying temperatures, from hot summers to cold winters. The role involves exposure to ambient temperatures, nuisance dust, chemicals, mechanical parts, pinch points, and noise from industrial machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00
