Job Description
Job Description The Quality Lab Technician works in a laboratory setting to perform testing and inspection of in-process and finished products. This role focuses on precise measurement, quality control testing, and accurate documentation to ensure products meet strict technical and regulatory standards. The position offers exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing environment and opportunities for growth into other departments and leadership roles. Responsibilities Check in and process incoming and finished product samples according to established procedures. Perform strength and tensile testing on materials to verify they meet required specifications. Measure material width using a ruler and other tools with precision down to 1/64th of an inch. Prepare samples for gas chromatography (GC), load them into the GC equipment, and accurately log test results. Review materials for color standards and ensure they align with defined quality requirements. Test seal strength of materials and document any deviations or nonconformances. Accurately document and record all laboratory test results in the appropriate systems and logs. Follow established quality control and quality assurance procedures in all lab activities. Work collaboratively with lab colleagues and production personnel to obtain samples and resolve quality issues. Support a fast-paced production environment by prioritizing work and meeting testing timelines. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe laboratory workspace. Communicate clearly with team members and other departments regarding test results and quality findings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree preferred, or a high school diploma with relevant quality or laboratory experience. Experience in production, manufacturing, or food service environments is advantageous. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and visiting clients. Interest in career growth opportunities, including potential movement into other departments or leadership roles. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Itasca, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
