105,000.00-150,000.00 per year The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract via a Resident Management Office (Collins Aerospace) located in Rockford, IL .
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) inspection functions for space flight hardware in accordance with established customer and company requirements. Maintain current company and customer-required training and certifications necessary to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations. Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer-approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end-item inspections. Apply working knowledge of
AS9100/ISO9001
Quality System requirements, or equivalent industry standards, while interpreting complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED
This position has been posted at multiple levels (must meet minimum level indicated). This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information. Must have a High School or equivalent . Must have 5+ years of recent and related work experience. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets. Ability to initiate non-conformance reports, document and report inspection results, and monitor corrective actions for effectiveness. Maintain current company and customer training certifications required to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations. Work with company and customer representatives to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements. Knowledge of higher-level quality assurance system requirement documents, with the ability to interpret and apply QA system-level requirements while performing quality assurance duties. Interpret and apply higher-level quality assurance system requirements while performing all assigned quality assurance duties. Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer-approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end-item inspections. Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections, conduct process surveillance through witnessing and monitoring techniques, and verify test results and documentation for raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies in accordance with approved inspection documents and specification requirements.
