QA Technician II Thompson Pipe - USA South Beloit, IL Job Details $22 - $30 an hour 5 days ago Qualifications Spreadsheets High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility Productivity software Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QA Technician II to join our team in South Beloit, IL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. If you have a passion for quality assurance and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform in-process and final inspections on pipe, fittings, and components — dimensional, coating, lining, concrete, and weld-related types — using micrometers, calipers, holiday testers, thickness gauges, and related instruments. Conduct, evaluate, and report NDE/NDT; oversee third-party examination vendors. Collect, prepare, and report test samples — welds, concrete cylinders, and cement mortar lining. Administer welder and welding operator qualification tests; maintain all associated records and logs. Prepare nonconformance reports and maintain nonconforming product logs. Complete and maintain QA inspection and test reports, calibration records, and lab reports. Review, status, and close out production records and quality control reports. Conduct internal audits as assigned. Train less-experienced quality personnel as assigned. Study and apply the TPG Quality Manual, repair procedures, codes, specs, and drawings used in daily operations. Maintain current certifications and pursue new or higher-level credentials as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in a QA, QC, or production role in pipe manufacturing, precast concrete, or a related industry. Hands-on experience in at least one discipline: concrete/civil, coatings, welding, or NDE/NDT. Level I or equivalent certification in at least one area; Level II or equivalent strongly preferred — ACI Field Test Technician; AWS CWI or CAWI; NDE/NDT MT, PT, RT, UT, or VT (ASNT SNT-TC-1A or NAS 410);
NACE/AMPP
Coating Inspector; or API 510, 570, or 577. High school diploma or GED required; trade certificate or STEM associate's/bachelor's degree a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
