Job Description

Purpose of Position:
The Quality Technician will fulfill the support role internally and to the customer. This position will support success and profit by timely and thorough completion of job tasks and responsibilities while following all MTNA policies and procedures. Essential Job Functions Respond to customer quality concerns Support internal and external Counter Measure (C/M) activity Initiate the Internal Corrective Action Report Perform problem investigations and Root Cause analysis Complete required daily paperwork including but not limited to: Change point control sheets, quality index board, maintain all product line books Provide support for internal quality concerns for mass production: perform process evaluations, audit product in production, establish limit samples and sample parts, investigate and control design changes, ensure compliance of Initial Production Part Advance Approval Requests (IPPAAR) and Initial Production Parts (IPP), and change point control Provide support for containment activity internal/external, initiate containment activity with follow-up communication to other shifts, track and establish quality trends in containment, ensure containment includes dock to initial process as appropriate Understand and support New Model activities to ensure scheduled are met Carry out all first off, middle, and end-run verifications Review questionable scrap and disposition as needed Communicate issues in a timely manner to production, customer, and all affected associates Other duties as assigned by management Experience and Knowledge High School Diploma or equivalent Skills Systems and continuous improvement orientation Quality orientated and attention to detail Problem analysis and resolution Strong interpersonal and communication skills Aware of consequences to the customer, environment, and the employee if procedures are not followed Self-motivation and strong teamwork skills Ability to use North American Shop Floor Program (NASF) or North American Paint System Program (NAPS) Ability to use and understand quality measuring tools Basic math skills Basic computer and Microsoft office skills
