Job Description
Responsibility The Quality Auditor is responsible for ensuring that automotive components and finished vehicles meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role involves inspecting products, auditing production processes, identifying defects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment. The Quality Auditor plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, reducing defects, and promoting a culture of quality, safety, and accountability on the production floor. Support (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility. Implementing activities to improve ATA business operations using a strategy of Steady Compliance. Accountable to Quality Team Leader, Assistant Manager and Manager Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection or auditing in an automotive or manufacturing environment Knowledge of automotive quality systems (ISO 9001) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications Experience with measurement tools and inspection equipment (Taper Scales, Calipers, Micrometers) Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and basic quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis) Proficiency with quality reporting systems and basic computer applications Leadership Assist associates with knowledge of quality defects and customer requirements Ability to influence and guide production teams toward compliance without direct authority Leads by example in following procedures, safety rules, and quality standards Encourages teamwork and collaboration across departments Supports training and mentoring of new inspectors or operators on quality standards (Supports Cross training to learn all aspects, and to maintain quality across Stamping and Assembly Departments) Takes initiative in identifying improvement opportunities and driving corrective actions Demonstrates integrity and consistency in decision-making Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence Service Strong commitment to delivering quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with production teams and management Responsive to internal customers (production, engineering, and logistics teams) Focus on problem-solving with a customer-first mindset Maintains professionalism when addressing quality concerns on the shop floor Demonstrates accountability in ensuring timely resolution of quality issues Assist in meetingISO 9001 / ISO 14001
requirements Operations Knowledge of automotive mfg workflows, including stamping, welding and final inspection Ability to observe, evaluate, and verify production processes operate within defined quality standards Ensure adherence to work instructions, standard processes, and customer specific requirements across all production stages Knowledge ofISO 9001 / ISO 14001
quality systems Skilled in defect identification and classification Use of measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges etc In-process and final product auditing to ensure early detection of quality issues Material and product traceability Nonconformance identification and containment Lean manufacturing and 5S support Accurate data recording and reporting Cross-functional team coordination Maintain documentation on quality checks & issues Follow "Stop Call Wait" instruction when parts are found to be defective Place nonconforming parts on hold and determine exposure in house and shipped (traceability) Issue, track and close Trouble Reports Ensure Hold product is accurately designated in "hold" status on Plex, and in the notes to add TR related to hold reason Complete all required inspections on the production floor No retagging when product is placed on hold Ensure rework instructions are present for any suspect parts Mange sort activities regarding hold parts Place questionable product on MRT (management review table) Keep correct records of scrap and hold information in Plex notes per container Issue trouble reports in PLEX Know and comprehend critical/safety characteristics of each part Communicate with all associates on product quality, procedures and processes Assist with sorting tasks to verify quantities shipped to customers Quality is required to sort trucks if possibility of a miss shipment Utilize fixtures and basic measuring device Assist Assembly Coordinator with educating and training of associates on proper Fixture usage.
