Quality Technician - 3rd Shift

Position Summary The Quality Control Technician will test and disposition finished products and raw materials per defined quality plans within a chemical manufacturing facility. They also perform non-routine testing, tasks and investigation as required to maintain product quality. The incumbent is expected to efficiently and accurately conduct testing and appropriately rework batches at a rate necessary to enable production personnel to continue work at an unimpaired rate. Responsibilities Generation of finished product and raw material certificates of compliance. Manual testing of raw materials and finished products according to specific quality plan. Tool calibrations as required. Data entry of test results. Maintaining cleanliness of work stations. Reviewing & filing vendor Certificates of Analysis. Labeling and moving raw materials in computer inventory. Directing rework of non-conforming batches. Dispose of QC wastes in the prescribed manner. Assist lab/sales personnel with appropriate testing in development of specifications for new products. Initiating investigation of statistically suspect process data. Entering test results into local testing software. Technician-level expertise in corporate-mandated ERP software. The incumbent is expected to communicate as appropriate with the following internal and external entities as appropriate to the situation.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to manually prepare samples for testing. Ability to wear respirator as judged by qualitative fit test. Ability to speak, read, and understand English. Basic knowledge of statistics.

Preferred Qualifications:

BS in chemistry or biology. Equivalent industrial experience. Prior quality control/laboratory experience. Mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of required continuous improvement techniques.
