Job Title:
Quality Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated 1st Shift Quality Technician who will play a critical role in maintaining our production quality standards. This position involves working directly on the floor, performing precise quality inspections using advanced measurement tools, and ensuring compliance with tolerance levels of +•.002. The technician will also communicate effectively during production runs, identify root causes of issues, manage claim forms, schedules, and process returns. Additionally, responsibilities include capturing photographic evidence, documenting findings, and using Outlook to compile data reports from the floor. The role requires physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed. Training will be provided on the day shift. Responsibilities Conduct quality inspections using precision measurement tools. Maintain tolerance levels of +•.002 during production. Identify root causes and resolve issues in real-time. Manage and complete claim forms, schedules, and returns processing. Capture and document evidence through photography. Compile data reports using Outlook. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as necessary. Lift up to 50 pounds independently. Essential Skills 2-3+ years of industrial quality experience. Proficiency in using tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and taper gauges. Experience with quality software such as Invex, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform two-person lifts for heavier items. Steel toe boots and willingness to obtain metatarsal boots. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in coil processing. Forklift operation experience. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a large facility featuring large-scale metal processing equipment in an open concept layout. The area is bright and well-ventilated, with an excellent brand new cafeteria. Employees receive extra incentives to use at the market. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Middlebury, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37440.00
  • $45760.00/yr.
  • Medical (BCBS), Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life Ins, 401 with 5% match
  • Family owned and company is continuing to grow
  • Monthly lunch-ins, random gifts/drawings (swag, blankets, black stones, beats headphones, PTO days, tool box, North Face, koozies, etc.)
  • Accrue 120hrs PTO over 1st year (can also request/take unpaid time off in no PTO in the system) + 7 paid holidays (eligible to start using after 90 days, can rollover 40hrs/yr)
  • Additional $1/hr attendance bonus & a $50 per week towards cantina money (equivalent to additional $1.25/hr)
