Manufacturing Full Job Description Job Summary:
Join our growing team! Quality Auditors and Inspectors are responsible for the verification of production output as it relates to customer requirements and the assurance that the required documentation is complete and correct. Auditors are responsible for the containment and reporting of non-conforming material and enforcing Quality Management System procedures and policies. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Assesses product quality through visual and measurement as required by Control Plan and gage instructions. Records inspections on the Startup, In-Process, and Final Audit logs. Collects, identifies, and retains startup and last shot parts for storage. Provides production labels to operations as needed. Verifies Operator Instructions are followed by production personnel. This includes using the identified equipment and following process steps. Verifies production personnel are properly documenting inspections, lot traceability, moisture checks, and other requirements. Implements the containment procedure for suspect material. Includes the identification, segregation, sorting, and participation of root cause analysis of defects. Tapes and stamps finished containers. Competencies required for
Quality Auditor:
Problem solving abilities identifies and notifies shift leadership of production-related problems. Works with the team to determine corrections. Technical skills; ability to use printer software, gages, machine monitors, and other production equipment. Interpersonal skills; cooperating with management, shift leadership, coworkers, other auditors. Acts as a mentor to employees by assisting in paperwork, acceptance criteria, and other critical tasks.
Communication:
speaks professionally, listens, and responds respectfully using verbal, written, and non-verbal communication. Responsive; reacts appropriately to positive or negative situations. Interacts with all shift team members and management. Conflict resolution; managing stress, maintaining positive attitude, accepting diversity, compromise, and patience.

exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views, welcomes feedback, and supports everyone's efforts to succeed. Balances team and individual responsibilities. Organizational support; knows and follows JMS procedures, policies, and work instructions. Supports JMS goals and values. Quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Safety:
knows and follows JMS safety requirements and uses proper PPE. Reports any unsafe conditions to a member of management and/or shift leadership. Dependability, attendance, punctuality; responsible for own actions, follows instructions, honors commitments. Maintains acceptable attendance and is consistently on time.
Initiative:
make improvement suggestions, assist with production and housekeeping, volunteers as a safety committee member, 5S and other special projects.
Qualifications:
Education/experience:
high school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in quality and manufacturing is preferred.
Attendance:
must have good attendance as this position is the only quality employee on the off shifts.
Language:
must be able to read write in English and/or Spanish.
Math:
must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Critical thinking skills:
must be able to analyze information objectively, evaluate arguments, and identify logical inconsistencies.
Computer skills:
must be able to navigate network files to access documents and labels. May be asked to create new or modify existing forms and labels.
Physical requirements:
this fast-paced job requires continuous walking, standing, and use of hands and fingers. Must have the ability handle, feel, reach with arms, balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The job requires the ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds. Specific abilities required include close, distant, color, and peripheral vision. Depth perception and ability to adjust focus are also required.
Work Environment:
employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high temperatures around machines, and moderate noise levels. Plastic molded parts are hot and require gloves for safe handling.
