Job Description

The Quality Technician reports directly to the Quality Manager and works collaboratively with personnel. There are no direct reports associated with this position. Key Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the Quality Technician is to use precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to determine conformance to required specifications. Inspects, tests, sorts, or measures materials, products and work for conformance to specifications. Programs and Operates CMM equipment Rejects non-conforming items using a defined process Analyzes and interprets blueprints, data, manuals, procedures and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required. Maintains cleanliness of the quality area, tools and equipment at all times. Documents test results/procedures, or inspection data, and evaluate compliance with standards and submits to customer. Uses computers to enter, access, or retrieve data, to create reports, etc. Works closely with local customer quality representatives to investigate concerns or root causes and to evaluate improvement effectiveness. Maintains the plant's ISO equipment calibration and performance records and perform calibrations as required by defined procedures. Customer satisfaction focus, involving face-to-face communication with individuals or teams. Works cooperatively with others to improve departmental metrics as required maximizing value and reducing costs. Performs audits which include, CI team plant audits, ISO internal audits, and dock audits. Job Demands and ExpectationsAll Quality Technicians are expected to update job knowledge on an ongoing basis by identifying and participating in functionally related educational opportunities.

Qualifications and Competencies Certified Quality Technician - Preferred To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to produce coherent written documents that are free of mathematical, spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors, maintain an optimistic and supportive attitude, and maintain the strictest confidence regarding all issues and information regarding the company's operations, its employee, financial matters, and personal matters of which the employee may become aware in the course of their work. The individual will also maintain competency with the following programs and equipment: Microsoft Office suit PC-DMIS programming preferred Office equipment; Computer, Phone, Fax, Scan, Copy, Camera Height gauges, calipers, protractors, rules, micrometers, etc. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprint specifications, and orthographic projection. Solidworks preferred In English; Ability to read, write, interpret and verbally communicate technical instructions Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques

Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information. Education Associate's degree from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred Experience Minimum of two years of experience within a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in metal fabrication or related industry.
