The Safety Auditor / Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) Evaluator supports the organization's Safety Management System (SMS) by conducting internal safety audits, evaluations, and safety investigations. This role is focused on hands-on evaluation and audit execution, identification of hazards and non-conformances, and supporting corrective actions to promote regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvement. The role is based at Airshare's Corporate Headquarters in Overland Park, KS (on-site; not remote or hybrid).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Conduct scheduled and ad hoc Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) evaluations and safety audits across operational areas Perform in-briefs and out-briefs with department leadership regarding audit scope and results Conduct observations, interviews, and documentation reviews to evaluate compliance with regulations and internal standards Identify, document, and record audit findings, non-conformances, and safety concerns. Prepare clear, accurate, and timely evaluation and audit reports Assist safety leadership with safety investigations, including data collection and documentation Support root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective action development Track and monitor corrective actions to closure within safety databases Maintain audit records, checklists, and safety data within electronic systems Support continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture Other duties as assigned Qualified candidates must have 2-5 years of experience in aviation safety or operational roles, and/or auditing or quality assurance. High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Safety, or related field preferred Working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Internal Evaluation Programs or similar audit programs Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
