Position Summary:
The Material Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery, inventory, and distribution of materials at renewable energy project sites. This role ensures materials are received, inspected, tracked, and delivered to the appropriate work areas in a timely and efficient manner. The coordinator supports construction and installation teams by maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing delays, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the receiving, inspection, and verification of incoming materials at the project site. Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations. Organize and manage onsite laydown yards and storage areas for optimal material access and control. Track material usage and provide daily or weekly updates to the procurement and construction teams. Communicate with procurement, logistics, and vendors to resolve delivery issues or discrepancies. Assist in planning material deliveries in line with construction schedules and sequencing. Support issuance of materials to field crews and ensure proper documentation of movement. Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety compliance in storage and laydown areas. Use inventory management software or tracking tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Procore) to log and report materials data. Support quality control by reporting damaged or non-conforming materials to appropriate teams. Participate in site meetings to align material status with project timelines and priorities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in logistics, construction management, or supply chain preferred. 2+ years of experience in construction materials coordination, warehouse, or logistics support, ideally in renewable energy or industrial construction. Solar, industrial, renewable energy, or heavy construction experience preferred Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required

Work Environment:
Work in outdoor conditions including exposure to sun, heat, wind, and dust. Wear required PPE at all times (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, steel-toe boots).
Physical Demands:
Walk, stand, bend, and lift throughout the workday on uneven terrain. Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Perform physical tasks related to unloading, staging, inventorying, and distributing materials across the site.
