Job Title:
Quality Technician Job Description The Quality Technician monitors and evaluates product quality through routine inspections, measurements, and testing to ensure that all products meet established specifications and standards. This role supports production, shipping, and maintenance teams by quickly responding to quality issues, troubleshooting problems on the manufacturing floor, and helping to implement corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Technician maintains accurate quality records, verifies inspection equipment, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that reduce scrap, improve consistency, and enhance product reliability. Responsibilities Monitor product quality through routine inspections, measurements, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Support production, shipping, and maintenance teams by responding promptly to quality issues and assisting with troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor. Document inspection findings, defects, test results, and nonconformances accurately to maintain reliable and traceable quality records. Perform root cause checks on product defects and process deviations, and assist in developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Verify that equipment and tools used for quality checks, such as calipers and micrometers, are properly calibrated and functioning correctly. Audit processes and work areas to confirm adherence to standard operating procedures, quality requirements, and inspection criteria. Communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally to supervisors, operators, and engineers to prevent recurring issues and support timely resolution. Support training efforts by helping operators understand quality standards, inspection methods, and proper documentation practices. Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on reducing scrap, improving product consistency, and strengthening overall product reliability. Assist with incoming material inspections to ensure that suppliers meet required quality standards before materials enter production. Serve as a first-line resource for addressing product defects, leveraging leadership or team experience to help coordinate problem-solving efforts. Essential Skills Two or more years of hands-on experience in a quality or manufacturing environment. Practical experience in quality control and quality assurance activities within a production setting. Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers for inspection. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to verify product dimensions and specifications. Experience identifying and documenting nonconforming products and processes. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate and determine root causes of product defects and process deviations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Demonstrated leadership or team experience, with the ability to act as a first point of contact for resolving product quality issues. Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with operators, supervisors, engineers, and other team members. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and complete quality documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience conducting process audits and workplace inspections to verify compliance with standard operating procedures. Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing scrap and improving product consistency. Comfort working with standard inspection methods and documenting results in an organized and systematic manner. Ability to support and mentor operators in understanding quality expectations and inspection techniques. Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility designed to provide a comfortable and consistent working environment throughout the year. You will work closely with production, shipping, maintenance, and engineering teams on the plant floor, using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers, as well as computer-based systems including Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting. The position is structured as a direct placement opportunity, offering a stable, long-term setting where you can help support a new project and contribute to the development of a new team. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hebron, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $64480.00/yr. 401k, Health, Dental, Vision.
