Join our Manufacturing team production, assembly, operation of equipment, and more and help us deliver an unmatched selection of products made with quality materials and workmanship. The Assay Lab supports production and customer needs by providing accurate precious metal analysis and maintaining high quality control standards across materials and processes. The Assay Technician performs fire assay and related analytical techniques to determine gold content in precious metal samples while ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to laboratory procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform fire assay analysis on production alloys, refining material, customer scrap, and internal samplesPrepare metal samples for x-ray fluorescence (XRF) testing Maintain strict attention to detail throughout analytical processes to ensure accurate and reliable resultsLog samples, determine appropriate testing method(s), and track inventory within the laboratory database & Oracle systemConduct daily quality control checks and document resultsSafely handle chemicals, including concentrated acids, and operate high-temperature furnaces and lab equipmentMaintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning of analytical toolsSupport lab operations, including sample inventory cleanout and general lab organization Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent0-2 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical environment Basic understanding of laboratory techniques or analytical processesAbility to follow standard operating procedures and document results accuratelyStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or coursework in chemistry, materials science, or related fieldExperience with fire assay, XRF analysis, or similar laboratory methodsExperience working with laboratory databasesDemonstrated commitment to safety and proper handling of hazardous materials Work Environment/Physical Demands Work is performed in laboratory environment with exposure to high-temperature furnaces and chemical handling (including acids)Requires standing for extended periods and handling small samples and delicate equipmentMust follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
