East Bridgewater, MA Company:
Jet Machined Products (a Potentia Manufacturing Group company) A Day in the Life You arrive to a clean, organized shop, review the day's build plan, and load up a new lot of aerospace components. You dial in workholding, verify tools, and run a first-article to exacting tolerances. Between cycles, you check critical dimensions with micrometers and indicators, document results, and keep parts clearly identified and traceable. If a hiccup appears—surface finish, a chip load issue, or a program tweak—you solve it. By afternoon, you've collaborated with quality on an AS9100-compliant first-piece, supported packaging for a completed order, and handed off a stable, repeatable process to the next job. If you're on the lead track, you'll also balance the queue for your area, refine CNC programs, mentor teammates, and drive process improvements that lift throughput and quality. What You'll Do Set up and operate CNC turning, milling, or mill-turn machines to produce complex, tight-tolerance parts that meet customer specs. Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation; machine to blueprint requirements. Perform in-process checks with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision gaging; record results accurately. Deburr and finish components to specification; maintain part identification, traceability, and lot segregation. Recognize and segregate nonconforming material; report FOD and quality concerns promptly. Complete travelers, inspection records, and production documentation in alignment with AS9100 expectations and customer requirements. Support packaging and shipment when needed; keep a safe, orderly work area and follow all safety and quality procedures. Lead Track Responsibilities Coordinate daily workflow and schedule within the turning or milling area. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and process issues to stabilize and optimize production. Create and refine CNC programs; validate processes and support first-piece inspections. Share know-how, facilitate problem-solving, and elevate department capabilities through continuous improvement initiatives. What You Bring Hands-on CNC machining experience in a production environment. Confidence reading blueprints/engineering drawings and applying them on the floor. Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.). Detail orientation, quality mindset, and clear communication. Ability to work independently and contribute within a team. Preferred Working knowledge of GD&T. Experience in an AS9100-regulated environment. Brown & Sharpe Micro-Val CMM experience and familiarity with CMM Manager software. Background in setup, programming, troubleshooting, or leadership. Education & Reporting High School Diploma or GED required; technical/trade school training preferred. Role reports to the Turning or Milling Lead; Lead Machinists report to the General Manager. Physical & Work Environment On your feet and moving throughout the day; manual dexterity for operation and inspection. Lift, carry, and move machined components and raw materials as needed. Clean, well-organized manufacturing facility; hearing protection in designated areas; eye protection during specified operations. Schedule Occasional overtime may be required based on production demand and business needs. Additional Information This description outlines the primary scope and level of work.
