This position combines hands-on technical assembly expertise with quality-focused inspection and testing responsibilities to ensure products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Electronic & Electromechanical Assembly Perform chassis, enclosure, and final product assembly, including electromechanical ("box build") assemblies. Assemble and integrate cables, wire harnesses, PCBs, and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation. Perform wire crimping, cable termination, soldering, and minor fabrication activities. Build and rework fine-pitch cable assemblies, including 0.5mm pitch applications. Install cables, strain reliefs, and terminate shielded multi-conductor cables. PCB Assembly, Soldering & Rework Assemble, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). Perform micro-soldering and electronic rework under a microscope. Work with miniature electronic components, including 0402 passives and 0.5mm pitch QFN/QFP packages. Complete board modifications including trace cuts, solder mask removal, jumper wire installation, and component replacement. Support prototype PCB assembly activities, including: Manual and stencil-based solder paste application Reflow oven, hot plate, and rework station operation Prototype assembly, testing, validation, and troubleshooting Quality Inspection & Testing Inspect, test, and troubleshoot products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Utilize test equipment including oscilloscopes, frequency generators, power supplies, digital multimeters, flow meters, pull testers, and microscopes. Identify and document product, process, equipment, and material nonconformances. Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Documentation & Compliance Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and assembly instructions. Create and update cable assembly documentation, drawings, and manufacturing records. Complete production and quality documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), ISO 13485, and
FDA 21 CFR
Part 820 requirements. Follow established work instructions, procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Team Support Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to meet customer delivery schedules and project milestones. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills & Experience 2-5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, or another regulated production environment. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Experience with PCBA assembly, electromechanical assembly, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair. Proficiency in hand soldering, micro-soldering, and electronic rework. Experience soldering under a microscope. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Experience using precision measurement and electronic test equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an ISO 13485-regulated medical device environment. Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, or related technical field; or equivalent hands-on experience. Experience with fine-pitch cable assembly, crimping tools, and cable harness fabrication. Familiarity with prototype electronics assembly processes and equipment. Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations (21 CFR Part 820) and Good Documentation Practices. IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620) are a plus. #
