This position is ideal for a therapist or behavioral health professional with strong knowledge of clinical documentation, compliance standards, and chart auditing processes within a mental health or substance abuse treatment setting. The Clinical QA Specialist will play a key role in ensuring clinical documentation meets internal standards, payer requirements, accreditation standards, and state regulations. This individual will work closely with clinical and operational leadership to support quality assurance initiatives, documentation accuracy, and ongoing compliance efforts. We are open to both Master's-level clinicians and independently licensed clinicians, including LCSW, LICSW, and LMHC professionals in Massachusetts.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm Responsibilities Conduct routine chart audits and clinical documentation reviews across multiple levels of care Ensure compliance with internal policies, payer requirements, Joint Commission/CARF standards, and Massachusetts state regulations Review treatment plans, progress notes, assessments, discharge summaries, and other clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness Identify documentation deficiencies and provide feedback to clinical staff Assist with quality improvement initiatives and compliance tracking Collaborate with clinical leadership to maintain audit readiness Monitor documentation timeliness and adherence to company standards Support training and education efforts related to documentation best practices Assist with corrective action plans and follow-up audits when necessary Maintain organized records of audit findings and compliance reports Stay current on behavioral health regulations, clinical documentation standards, and payer expectations Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field required Active Massachusetts licensure preferred (LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC) Candidates with strong behavioral health clinical experience at the Master's level are encouraged to apply Prior experience working as a therapist in the behavioral health treatment industry required Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards and compliance practices Experience conducting chart audits and documentation reviews preferred Knowledge of Joint Commission, CARF, and behavioral health regulatory standards preferred Familiarity with EMR systems and electronic documentation workflows Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
