Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector supports daily operations by performing critical sampling, inspection, and basic testing of spices and seasonings in a production environment. This role ensures product integrity and quality by monitoring critical control points and verifying compliance with company and regulatory food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The Quality Inspector plays a vital role in identifying deviations and supporting corrective actions that contribute to the enhancement of quality manufacturing. Responsibilities Perform sampling and basic physical and organoleptic testing of spices and seasonings in lab and production environments. Ensure accurate label and weight verification of raw materials and finished product packaging on production lines. Monitor and conduct checks of metal detection control points during production to ensure proper function. Verify correct information and labeling of staged ingredients for production of seasoning formulations. Ensure adherence to GMPs, GLPs, and food safety standards. Document and report all deviations and non-conformances to operations leads and QC supervisors. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work environment. Perform other duties as requested in support of the department and company business needs. The work environment is a manufacturing setting consisting of loud and dusty production environments with strong odors. It may also involve working in a laboratory setting with chemicals of varying hazards. The temperature could be hot or cold, and the environment could smell heavily of spices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jessup, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
