Job description: Quality Technician Williamsport, MD Reports to Site General Manager Position Summary The Quality Technician supports EQI's Quality Management System with a continuous improvement mindset. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and effective resolution of quality issues across all product lines in the facility. The Quality Technician reports to the General Manager and works closely with Quality Engineers/Specialists, Product Engineers, Operations, and Supply Chain personnel both on site and at the corporate office. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, data-driven problem solving, and effective cross-functional collaboration. Essential Functions Manage and support the implementation of quality policies, procedures, and work instructions in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements Assure conformance to specifications for incoming and finished products Conduct and support quality inspections, including: Incoming and outgoing product inspections Parts and specification compliance reviews Customer inspections and audits Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality nonconformances Partner with site leadership to manage quality expectations with contractors, suppliers, and vendors Support risk assessments related to product quality and process performance Use quality data systems to track and manage data such as defects, nonconformances, and corrective actions; prepare KPI reports and trend analysis Support training documentation and ensure quality-related training requirements are tracked and completed Assess potential gaps in EQI's Quality Management System and support strategies to maintain compliance with customer and certification requirements Manage customer quality issues in partnership with Quality Engineers/Specialists, including: Timely response to customer complaints or nonconformances Data collection and communication with EQI's global supply chain Participation in the 8D corrective action process and follow-up to closure Monitor customer quality performance and provide on-site customer support as needed Support specification distribution and quality-related training processes Provide best-practice guidance related to quality processes and inspections Oversee rework, repair, and inspection activities as needed to minimize cost and customer impact Perform general support functions for Quality team members Additionally, this role will aid in safety processes, procedures, audits and reporting Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of quality experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment High school diploma or GED required Certifications in Quality and/or Continuous Improvement preferred Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 preferred) Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies Proven ability to analyze quality data and drive continuous improvement SDS management Fundamental understanding of lean manufacturing principles Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams Highly preferred: Experience with wet painting and powder coating processes , including inspection criteria, defect identification, and process controls
