Job Description

Position Summary The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products meet Gielow Pickles' quality, food safety, and regulatory standards. This role performs inspections, testing, documentation, and process monitoring throughout production to ensure product consistency, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Quality Technician works closely with production personnel to identify and resolve quality concerns while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with company specifications and food safety standards. Perform quality testing and accurately document results. Maintain records of inspections, testing, corrective actions, and non-conformance reports. Investigate quality issues and customer complaints to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Assist with internal and external audits, including FDA, HACCP, GMP, and customer audits. Provide guidance and training to production employees regarding quality standards and procedures. Work with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains. Ensure compliance with all company policies, food safety programs, and regulatory requirements. Communicate quality concerns and recommendations to management and production teams in a timely manner. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or quality control preferred. Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FDA regulations, and food safety programs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to accurately complete reports and maintain records. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in varying temperatures and food production environments. Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed.
Pay:
$19.83 - $21.98 per hour
