Job Description:
DLZ Corporation is seeking Field Technicians for projects in Michigan ! This is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and work hard in a dynamic environment. DLZ will provide the necessary training for you to succeed in this role.
What You'll Do:
Perform field sampling, testing, and inspection of soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete on active construction sites Interpret project plans, specifications, and testing requirements Accurately collect, document, and report field data and daily construction quantities Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and internal team members Maintain assigned vehicles, testing equipment, and safety standards Follow all DLZ health, safety, and public safety procedures Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of materials testing experience Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Required certifications/training: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level I Nuclear Densometer Safety Training MDOT Density Control Certification Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass background check and drug testing (including marijuana) Ability to safely traverse active construction sites and comply with all safety requirements Willingness to travel throughout Michigan and the tri-state area. Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points!): Experience with Metafield or similar reporting software OSHA 10 Hour or MUST Safety certification ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Level II MDOT Aggregate Sampling and/or Inspection Certification (Level I)
