Job Description
The Infrastructure Quality Inspection Program is designed to report, track, and resolve infrastructure quality of life issues around the City. Staff would survey City, County, and State major road corridors & neighborhoods to identify issues, report them to the appropriate agency, and track them to resolution.
Under general supervision:
This position will survey, investigate complaints, and assist in resolution of infrastructure issues across agencies. The Public Works District Relations Coordinator assists in creating a beautiful and functional City by ensuring that infrastructure is in a state of good repair. Types of issues may include but are not limited to signal or light outages, road defects and condition, abandoned or damaged traffic control devices, blight, and utility issues. Complete regular surveys and inspections of all roads within an assigned area or district Report and monitor infrastructure related issues Receive and investigate infrastructure related complaints Prepares daily and weekly activity logs and reports Inspect, verify, and report on field condition and repair work Plan, coordinate and attend meetings with community organizations, citizens, and City departments. Develop and recommend policies, procedures and/or actions to community organizations and departmental administration to resolve complaints. Compile statistical data and generate complaint resolution reports. Compile and maintain historical data relevant to community/business issues and joint agreements. High School Diploma or GED; Two to three years of recent experience that may include inspections, surveying, infrastructure, construction, or similar fields. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted to meet the education and experience requirements of this position. Supplemental InformationSUBJECTS AND WEIGHTS

The Public Works District Relations Coordinator receives instruction and work assignments from a supervisor and project manager. This position is responsible for monitoring the Right of Way in an assigned City of Detroit vehicle.GUIDELINES

Purpose of contacts is to quickly identify and resolve infrastructure related issues and ensuring the residents are receiving the best service.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Demands Work involves site visits in all types of weather, occasional walking on construction sites Work Environment Work involves frequent travel to visit, survey, and/or inspect construction sites.LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
