QUALITY INSPECTOR

Quality Inspector Reports to: Quality Manager Duties & Tasks Perform routine quality audits throughout the production facility Perform in-process inspections on production floor, including first-piece and last-piece inspections Perform dimensional layout inspection as required Perform quality-related training for employees Perform receiving inspection and random dock audits Preform calibration activities occasionally to verify specifications Follow all policies and procedures Visit suppliers and customers as required Sort product for quality defects as required Provide back-up coverage for other quality positions as needed Perform other duties as assigned by senior quality engineer or quality manager Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Skills Monitoring — Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, to make improvements or take corrective action. Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds Technical Knowledge Familiarity with Windows OS, Keyboard, mouse and scanner. Capable of reading and understanding Blue Prints Basic Reading capability Basic Math capability Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and analyze part prints. Six (6) months inspection experience in the metal industry. Full understanding of the proper use of measurement devices such as height gages, calipers, micrometers, protractors, pressure gages, etc.
