Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to join our team on First Shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through rigorous inspections, adherence to ISO and regulatory requirements. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Inspections :
Perform dimensional (PPAP type) and visual inspections to ensure products meet all customer and regulatory specifications. • Audit Work in
Process :
Review and audit production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. •
ISO Audits :
Conduct internal ISO audits to maintain compliance with industry regulations and quality management system requirements. •
Customer Complaints Management :
Investigate and resolve customer complaints by performing root cause analysis, developing corrective actions, and ensuring customer satisfaction. • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) : Identify underlying causes of non-conformances and issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions. •
Calibration :
Perform calibration of equipment and tools, ensuring that all measuring devices are accurate and properly maintained. •
Document Control :
Ensure that quality documentation such as inspection reports, calibration records, and audit findings are accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed. •
Preventative Maintenance :
Assist in the development of maintenance schedules based on the analysis of calibration and performance data. •
Engineering Test Support :
Occasionally assist the engineering team in conducting hands-on tests for product development or failure analysis. This may involve performing and recording test procedures. •
Other Duties :
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager, including participation in quality meetings and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Technical Capacity :
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read technical drawings and perform inspections. •
Proficiency :
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry, reporting, and documentation purposes. •
Root Cause Analysis :
Strong problem-solving skills with experience performing thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. •
Customer-Focused :
Experience managing and resolving customer complaints to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. •
Calibration Expertise :
Knowledge of calibration procedures and standards, with hands-on experience performing equipment calibration. •
Problem Solving/Analysis :
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues. •
Collaboration :
Ability to work effectively within a team, as well as across departments such as production and engineering. •
Organizational and Time Management Skills :
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized documentation. •
Initiative :
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Required Education and Experience:
Education :
Minimum of a high school diploma. Some college coursework or technical certification is preferred. •
Experience :
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Familiarity with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and processes. Experience in quality assurance with a focus on root cause analysis and customer complaint resolution. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting with a focus on Lean quality practices.
