JOB SCOPE
(DESCRIPTION) We are currently seeking a 2nd shift Quality Technician to validate Metal Flow's manufacturing quality efforts by measuring and collecting accurate metrological data for products and tooling. Provide quality data analysis to ensure Metal Flow's customers receive products that meet or exceed their requirements and expectations.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES APPROXIMATE PERCENTAGE OF ENERGY
Measure and Collect Product Quality Data 60% Calibrate and Maintain Metrological Equipment 20% Audit Product and Processes for Quality Requirements 20%
DETAILED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Measure and Collect Product Quality Data - 60% Support the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for new products by participating in activities such as Gage R&Rs, etc.) Perform product layouts as part of the Pre-Production Approval Process (PPAP) for new product launches. Monitor production schedules and prepare job information (including any previous or current concerns for a part) and gages for the set-up. Perform product layouts as part of the First Piece Verification Process and In Process Inspections working to achieve both accuracy and minimal press downtime. Promote, encourage, and support proper measurement techniques with other departments. Participate in statistical studies as needed. Calibrate and Maintain Metrological Equipment - 20% Conduct gage calibrations when required. Facilitate the calibration of equipment requiring external validation. Ensure gages for jobs are up to date on calibration prior to releasing gages to production teams. Maintain job files, production data, and calibration data for product and data retention records. Participate in maintaining lab equipment and resources. Audit Product and Processes for Quality Requirements - 20% Participate in product and process quality audits as directed. General Production Responsibilities and Projects Other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as requested by direct supervisor. Practice safe work habits, and support the housekeeping and 5S initiatives of the organization by engaging and enhancing the process.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
Preferred Education:
Minimum Requirement:
High School graduate required with two years in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering program, and/or equivalent experience.

At least two years in a manufacturing, quality, metrology, or engineering program, and/or equivalent experience. Previous quality system and metrology experience.
Preferred Training/Skills:
Computer Literacy (MS Systems) Intermediate Blueprint Reading & GD&T Intermediate Knowledge of Metrology/Gaging Foundational Math/Statistics Knowledge (SPC) Intermediate Knowledge of Quality Tools & Lab Equipment Time Management Intermediate Understanding Problem Solving Tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis, etc.)
APQP, PFMEA, PPAP
Basic knowledge of stamping processes Auditing (IATF, Internal, Layered, etc.)
Required Qualities:
Ability to work constructively with others, demonstrated dependability, effective verbal and written communication skills, heightened attention to detail and ability to follow-through, commitment to team & collaboration, respect for other people, equipment, and work area.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires moderate-high level of physical activity. Standing, walking, moving, and bending for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifting and moving up to 40 lbs. Must wear proper eye and ear protection in designated areas. Must wear proper OSHA approved work boots or shoes.
