Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector performs inspections (in-process, finished product and inspection audits), performs process and set-up verifications and records results as required by the quality management system (QMS). This position interacts with members of the production team to provide timely feedback on product in process. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Members of the inspection team assist the organization in problem solving associated with non-conformities as well as other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager. Performs manual inspection of assemblies per industry standards (incoming, in-process and finished product)
  • Assures workmanship is compliant with IPC standards.
  • Performs inspection of incoming items against print specifications.
  • Examines layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware and components to detect assembly errors.
  • Traces cables and harness assemblies following cable wiring diagram to verify routing of wires to specified connections.
  • Examines o PCB circuitry to detect defects such as shorts, breaks, excess or missing solder, scratches, cracks and incorrect layout, o Joints, wires and cables to locate soldering defects, o Alignment of parts and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions, o Parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches and pinholes.
  • Uses magnification to detect defects.
  • Performs first piece inspection of assemblies against bill of material data.
  • Approves repairs to assemblies and re-inspects the repair once complete and involves the Production Manager and Quality Manager when necessary.
  • Coordinates the disposition of nonconforming materials in-process.
