Livonia, Michigan, United States Talascend is currently seeking a Material Control Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan. Overview The Material Control Technician I is responsible for transporting products within the warehouse and shop using a power industrial truck, as well as loading, unloading, and recording product movement to ensure proper stock levels and order fulfillment. The role involves supporting warehouse operations, maintaining organization, and assisting with inventory management, all under team mentorship. Responsibilities Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves, following work orders or verbal instructions.
Identify, inspect, and track incoming and outgoing parts for quality, quantity, and accuracy.
Supply build floor with material build kits.
Operate an industrial truck.
Load materials and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Clean, organize, and remove packing dunnage to keep the work area clean. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
No previous experience required. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in manufacturing and/or materials.
Valid driver's license. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Understands the concept of good customer service, reliable attendance, and the ability to work overtime.
Ability to obtain or qualify for an industrial truck license.
Ability to read, count, and communicate inventory data both written and verbal.
Ability to follow directions and learn new skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
