Full-time, on-site Wartech Engineering is a dynamic, fast-paced small business defense contractor seeking an experienced Quality Technician with Laser Tracker, CMM, and/or vision system proficiency to join our Quality Team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and internal quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Laser Tracker, CMM, and/or vision system experience. Unlike a traditional desk-focused quality role, this position spends the majority of time in the shop actively inspecting parts, supporting production personnel, identifying quality concerns, maintaining traceability documentation, and assisting with corrective actions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working directly with manufacturing personnel in a fast-paced defense manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key support position to the Quality Assurance Manager and acts as a liaison between Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams. Responsibilities are aligned with Wartech's

Quality Management System and quality control processes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, final, incoming, and outgoing inspections of manufactured components and assemblies.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, workmanship, and product conformity using measuring and inspection tools.
- Conduct routine quality checks throughout production to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Support manufacturing personnel by identifying quality concerns before products move to the next operation.
- Monitor fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and finishing processes for compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and serve as a resource for production personnel.
- Assist with First Article Inspections (FAI) and inspection reports.
- Record inspection findings and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Support the creation and maintenance of job travelers and quality checkpoints.
- Verify completion of required documentation and traceability records.
- Assist in maintaining inspection logs, quality records, and controlled documents.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Support nonconformance reporting and quality issue tracking.
- Identify recurring quality concerns and communicate findings to Quality and Manufacturing leadership.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Help gather production and inspection data for quality trend analysis.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality personnel to resolve production issues.
- Work with Org Development and Quality to align cross-department efforts in efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate quality concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with employee training on inspection techniques, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
- Support customer, ISO, and internal audits as needed.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality control, inspection, or related industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or equivalent certifications and/or training in Manufacturing Technology, Quality, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

- Understanding of corrective actions and root cause analysis.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Familiarity with ITAR, CUI, or defense contracting environments.
OSHA 10/OSHA 30
- Ability to spend 75
- 90% of the workday on the manufacturing floor.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing throughout production areas.
- Ability to lift and move 40+ pounds as needed.
- Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
