Full Job Description Description:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fabrication Quality Inspector responsible for ensuring fabricated products meet applicable codes, specifications, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and NACE Coatings Inspector with experience inspecting fabricated assemblies including liquid holding tanks, piping systems, and structural components manufactured from carbon steel, stainless steel, FRP, and thermoplastics. Key Responsibilities Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated components and assemblies. Inspect welds in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications. Conduct coatings inspections including surface preparation, application, and cure verification. Verify dimensional tolerances and fabrication compliance using inspection tools and measurement equipment. Inspect tanks, piping systems, and pressure or liquid-retaining assemblies for quality and integrity. Review fabrication drawings, weld procedures (WPS/PQR), inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation. Coordinate with fabrication, engineering, and project management teams to resolve quality issues. Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain quality records. Support customer inspections and third-party audits when required. Ensure compliance with company quality standards and industry codes. Update Monroe Environmental standards for welding and protective coatings. Travel up to 20% is expected.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred NACE Coatings Inspector certification required 5+ years of fabrication inspection experience required Experience inspecting: Liquid holding tanks Industrial piping systems Structural and fabricated steel assemblies Familiarity with fabrication of: Carbon steel Stainless steel FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) Thermoplastics Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and specifications Knowledge of inspection techniques and testing methods Strong documentation and reporting skills
