Contract (6-12 Months) Job Summary We are seeking a Quality Technician to support quality assurance activities within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing process and product audits, supporting problem-solving initiatives, and ensuring compliance with quality systems and production standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on automotive quality experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with production teams to maintain customer and internal quality expectations. Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in automotive quality or manufacturing quality environments
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance systems and procedures
  • Experience conducting process audits and product audits
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques
  • Experience performing incoming inspections and handling non-conforming material
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, control plans, and quality documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with QAD or similar ERP systems
  • Familiarity with poka-yoke systems, error-proofing methods, and containment processes
  • Experience supporting gage calibration programs
  • Knowledge of 5S methodologies and lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience working directly with customer returns and quality investigations Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Perform and document quality audits of production processes and materials
  • Conduct product audits (H-point, dock audits, appearance inspections, objective measurements, attribute testing)
  • Audit work instructions, quality alerts, error-proofing systems, and containment verification processes
  • Perform incoming inspection of purchased production-intent materials
  • Evaluate, record, and remove non-conforming material into controlled areas
  • Support production schedules by participating in team meetings and problem-resolution discussions
  • Perform instrument and gage calibrations and support the gage control program
  • Coordinate containment activities and establish clean points when required
  • Gather and report quality data for visual management boards and periodic reporting
  • Investigate and disposition customer-returned non-conforming material
  • Support cross-functional problem-solving efforts, including supplier interface when necessary
  • Promote and conduct 5S audits while ensuring adherence to safety and quality policies Physical and Environmental Requirements This position requires extended periods of standing and walking within a manufacturing environment.
Work may occur in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and PPE requirements. The role involves interaction with production equipment and quality testing tools in support of daily operations. INDQSS2
