Seasonal Quality Technician

Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, producing over 40 million pounds of cherries each year. We are a grower owned company built from two families' stories filled with pride and hard work that continues to grow in its reach of customers here and around the globe. Working at our production facility, you will be joining the team that processes the finest cherry products and other dried fruit available anywhere in the world. This job is seasonal and located at our Empire, Michigan facility. We are looking for a team player who is detail oriented and looking to gain knowledge in the food manufacturing world. There are day and night shifts available.

Objective:

Support Shoreline Fruit's food safety and quality standards by training and monitoring quality staff, verifying sanitation and production records, maintaining sanitation systems, checking ingredients, assisting with breaks, and supporting daily production operations.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of food processing and food safety HACCP and preventive controls training Mechanical and troubleshooting skills Strong multitasking and planning abilities Professional communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

Enforce food safety, GMP, and security policies Complete daily audits, paperwork checks, and production record reviews Perform metal detector checks and maintain logs Assist with employee training and orientation Collect and prepare product/environmental samples for testing Monitor product quality, grading, sampling, and retention samples Check and record sanitation chemical levels, including PAA and cleaners Prepare bucket sanitizer solution and monitor sanitation systems Conduct daily pre-op inspections before startup Support audits, inspections, and internal quality programs Assist with troubleshooting production and quality issues Report food safety or quality concerns to supervisors immediately Assist with weekend sanitation when needed

Physical Requirements:
