Quality Inspector

Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector tests and inspects products at various stages of production to ensure consistent quality and reliability. This role focuses on performing daily in-process audits on production parts, completing and documenting first article inspections for set-ups, and supporting production teams in maintaining high quality standards across all operations. Responsibilities Set up inspection equipment for use on the production floor to support ongoing manufacturing activities. Configure and set variable gauges to accurately measure and verify product dimensions and specifications. Complete first article inspections on products and document results to validate new set-ups and process changes. Perform in-process floor inspections and product verification using approved in-process documents as required. Train production staff on the proper use of gauges and in-process inspection documentation to ensure consistent quality checks. Instruct production staff on identifying part defects, properly tagging defective parts, and following procedures for disposing of tagged parts. Collaborate as a team member to identify, solve, and prevent quality issues and quality spills in production processes. Perform 5S activities and follow company policies related to 5S and Lean practices to maintain an organized and efficient work area. Essential Skills Experience working with quality tools or equipment such as micrometers and calipers, or familiarity with these tools and an understanding of how they work combined with a strong willingness to learn. Ability to set and use variable gauges for accurate measurement and inspection. Capability to perform detailed inspections and accurately complete first article and in-process inspection documentation. Strong attention to detail when identifying defects and verifying product conformity to specifications. Effective communication skills to train and instruct production staff on inspection procedures and defect handling. Ability to work collaboratively within a team to address and prevent quality issues. Commitment to following 5S and Lean principles in daily work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Hands-on experience in a quality department or manufacturing environment is beneficial. Prior exposure to inspection processes and production floor activities is an advantage. Comfort working with measurement tools and learning new quality inspection methods. Organizational skills to maintain accurate inspection records and documentation. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alexandria, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
