ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT THIS COA SPECIALIST JOB?
As a Full-Time COA Specialist at Barrett Petfood, you will primarily work in a desk role focused on maintaining the integrity of our quality assurance processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that all receiving and raw material QA documents are consistently up to date, while diligently managing and tracking logs to ensure compliance. Additionally, you'll have the important task of releasing ingredients for production, making sure all suppliers meet regulatory requirements. This role may also involve providing administrative support to our QA personnel as necessary. Familiarity with raw materials and finished products is desired, as it enhances your ability to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements. Proficient computer skills are necessary for managing documentation and tracking logs accurately. A keen attention to detail is a must, ensuring that all QA processes are meticulously upheld. Additionally, your ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment is vital. A positive approach to training and educating employees on quality, technical, and sanitation issues will further strengthen our commitment to delivering exceptional pet food products.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review all documentation for incoming materials to ensure product meets specification and follow up with supplier when it doesn't. Ensure all materials were received correctly into ERP system. Request any missing or additional documentation needed from suppliers. Document any deviations or discrepancies in detail for accounting purposes. Investigate issues with receiving personnel to ensure satisfactory and speedy resolution. Release satisfactory material for use in the facility. Quickly adapt to changes in raw material demands by monitoring release requests. Request, review, and maintain a variety of documents needed for regulatory compliance from customers and suppliers. Maintain databases of raw materials. Assist with managing the approved supplier list. Assist with managing the approved ingredient list. Run tests on incoming materials to ensure compliance as needed. Assists QA personnel with administrative duties as needed. Follows and helps to maintain all plant safety rules. Reports all incidents/ accidents. Promotes, monitors, and adheres to all QA system guidelines. Assist in compliance and upkeep of HACCP programs related to job duties. Maintains and ensures effective communication with supplier, customer, and vendor representatives. Maintains and ensures effective communication with all plant and departmental concerns. Works as a team with other quality and plant personnel. Recording, filing and e-filing data and records.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
