Job Description

Company Overview:
NFM US, a defense contractor in the St. Louis area is hiring for the position of Quality Technician. A joint venture formed by industry leading U.S. and European defense contractors, the company is starting up operations in 2024 to primarily support the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense through the exclusive use of an advanced and disruptive technology being brought to the United States.
Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the quality of product produced meets or exceeds Product Acceptance Criteria, customer requirements, specification and standards Performs incoming inspection of materials, monitor product during assigned shift for all stages of production and perform finished goods audits Assists in training of Production and Quality personnel to production requirements and quality standards Must lead by example in the areas of
Safety, Quality and Professionalism Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintain safe, clean and organized work area Participate in 5S Program Effectively prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly workload Generate Corrective Action Requests Assist in investigation of defect occurrences and development of countermeasures Utilize proven quality concepts to determine root causes of defects Perform data analysis in support of corrective action activities Assist in monitoring of countermeasure effectiveness Understand, explain and execute document forms, usage, control, data recording and reporting Monitor the usage of Work Instructions, BOMs and scrap reporting documents/procedures Develop, maintain and modify controlled documents as assigned to include Quality Department work instructions Assists in production, qualification and development of First Article parts and documentation Produces, qualifies and develops First Article parts and documentation Perform incoming inspections, identify inspection requirements of material and components received, report status of product and segregate as required Perform in process inspections Perform finished goods inspections Knowledge of and the ability to apply product acceptance criteria Perform assigned internal audits of processes Perform assigned internal audits of ISO clauses Accurately input data utilized for Key Process Indicators Generate Key Process Indicator reports Knowledge and usage of part measuring devices ( scales, calipers, rulers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) Understand, explain and execute the calibration procedure Administer Nonconforming Product Procedure Input data for purposes of defect analysis and reporting Communicate quality issues with Operators and Leadership team when discovered Issue Quality Alerts to Production using customer criteria, drawings, and internal communications Create defect analyses and reports Lead defect review meetings Participate in Process Improvement activities Lead Process Improvement activities Correctly identify status of product according to color coding system Actively seek opportunities for professional development Input and report inspection and testing results accurately Assist in QMS records reviews Perform testing per established standards Assist in training of Production personnel Assist in training of Quality personnel Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results Excellent computer skills (proficient in Microsoft suite) Effective communication and collaboration abilities Must be able to operate with minimal supervision Understand and practice 5S requirements Be flexible with shift work and overtime Education and Experience A minimum of five years' experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing or production environment, or two years' experience in Quality and an Associate degree in a related field is required

Green Belt, CQI or CQT certification Work Environment This position works primarily in a factory setting varying between standing and sitting 6-9 hours per day: Standing
