Full Job Description Job Summary:
The QAT performs duties required to help establish, maintain and lead basic quality functions such as but not limited to inspect and test a variety of products, components, finished goods, parts and materials for conformance to quality and engineering standards in accordance with established methods, procedures and instructions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Support all aspects of the Hager QMS program. Maintain the Quality department QMS documentation on the floor. Ensure all updated documents get posted and old revisions removed. Verify all forms completed on the manufacturing floor by all team members are complete and follow the form requirements. Any quality concerns or incomplete / inaccurate documents should be addressed with the area supervisor. Inspect or test incoming materials to engineering and or customer specifications, drawings etc. - including purchase direct product at the distribution center. Work with the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) in the execution of the SCAR program from the quality side, monitoring and assisting in getting closures. Inspect work in process - machining, polishing, finishing, assembly and packaging. Assist with analysis and processing of returned goods. Where needed, assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to improve manufacturing processes and the quality of the product. Reject all products failing to meet engineering or customer specifications and notify appropriate manager to correct and isolate defective product. Assure product to codes and agency requirements. Read and interpret drawings and assist with corrections / updates. Assist in solving quality problems. Advise and communicate quality problems to operators and management. Perform data collection, computer input, analysis and output using Microsoft Office products. Perform computer inquiries and transactions as required. Assist with engineering change orders (ECO's), and establishing quality procedures, process controls etc. Follow all safety and environmental procedures. Other related duties as required.
Education/Knowledge:
High school diploma or general equivalent degree (GED). Quality Certification or specialized quality training is preferred.
Experience:
Three or more years of quality experience or experience performing any of the above job functions in a manufacturing environment prior to entry into this position.
Skills:
Requires ability to read drawings and use precision measuring equipment. The ability to read, write and do intermediate math with the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form along with the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in or from standardized situations.
Machines/Tools/Equipment/Work Aids:
Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Calipers, micrometers, go/no-go gauges, color inspection equipment, indicators, vision inspection equipment, computer, printer, fax, and copier.
Physical Requirements:
Physical activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job which requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, talk, hear, and see. The employee is required to lift 25 to 60 pounds occasionally, and/or 5 to 25 pounds frequently and/or 5 pounds constantly from floor to waist and move a distance of 5 to 10 feet.
