Job Description

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION REQUIRES THE CANDIDATE TO RESIDE IN ST LOUIS
Position Summary The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all herbal products manufactured and distributed by Cheryl's Herbs meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations for quality, safety, and consistency. This role supports compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintains documentation, conducts inspections, and helps improve production processes. Key Responsibilities Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and GMP regulations Inspect raw herbs, ingredients, packaging, and finished products for quality and accuracy Maintain accurate QA records, reports, and documentation Conduct routine sanitation and safety inspections Assist with product testing, labeling verification, and batch record review Investigate quality issues and recommend corrective actions Work closely with production and inventory teams to resolve quality concerns Ensure compliance with FDA and herbal supplement industry regulations Support internal audits and supplier quality evaluations Train staff on quality procedures and safety practices when needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in biology, food science, chemistry, or related field preferredPhysical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds if required Comfortable working in a production or warehouse environment Work Environment Manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse settings May require use of protective equipment such as gloves, hairnets, or lab coats Salary Based on experience and qualifications Previous experience in quality assurance, food manufacturing, herbal products, or supplements preferred Knowledge of GMP standards and FDA regulations is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to maintain accurate documentation Good communication and teamwork skills Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office or inventory systems
