The ideal candidate will support the shop team by performing a variety of tasks, including material handling, tool maintenance, delivering materials to job sites, and general shop upkeep. This is an entry-level position that offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling:
Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from delivery trucks and store them in designated areas.
Tool Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining and organizing tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use. Delivering Materials to
Job Sites:
Safely transport materials and equipment from the shop to various job sites, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling.
Shop Maintenance:
Keep the shop area clean and organized, including sweeping floors, disposing of waste materials, and maintaining safety standards.
Inventory Management:
Help with inventory counts, organize materials, and notify supervisors when supplies are low or need replenishment.
Assisting Skilled Workers:
Support skilled workers by providing tools, materials, and assistance as needed during construction projects.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Miscellaneous Tasks:
Perform other duties as assigned by the shop manager or supervisor to support shop operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Previous experience in construction or a related field is a plus but not required. Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Reliable transportation to and from the job site. OSHA 10 is required for working on some jobsites (ability to obtain within 30 days of employment a plus) Owning your own tools (not required but a plus)
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in a shop environment with exposure to construction materials, machinery, and equipment. May require standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy materials. Some outdoor work may be required in various weather conditions, including material delivery to job sites.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
