Quality Control Inspector Location:
Durham, NC 27703
Employment Type:
W2 12-Month Contract (High potential for permanent conversion to full-time employment)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (40hrs/wk)
Pay Rate:
$30-$36/hour, based on experience/qualifications. Position Overview A-Line Staffing is seeking Quality Control Inspectors to support a global medical technology and life sciences organization focused on advancing healthcare through the development and manufacturing of high-quality medical products and components. The Quality Control Inspector conducts inspections of products including parts, assemblies, raw materials, tooling, and instruments to ensure compliance with design data requirements. This includes drawings, specifications, and contract requirements at defined stages of the manufacturing process using standard inspection methods and tools. Key Responsibilities Perform inspections using a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, and statistical process control methods Conduct Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR), First Article Inspections (FAI), and conformity inspections Identify, document, and raise non-conformance notifications as required Support continuous and process improvement activities Request engineering support when inspection or testing exceeds defined capability Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders Work collaboratively in a team-based manufacturing environment Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs Qualifications & Experience Associate degree or 5+ years of related quality inspection or manufacturing experience (Bachelor's degree preferred) Minimum 5+ years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience in a relevant industry Certification in a quality discipline preferred (ASQ
CQT, ASQ
Certified Quality Auditor, or equivalent) Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Experience with PCB and/or cabling inspection and UL component compliance knowledge Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) preferred Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection tools Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong written and verbal communication skills Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work performed in controlled manufacturing or warehouse environments with potential variations in temperature and noise Frequent standing, walking, and sitting throughout production, assembly, or machine shop areas Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally Requires ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, balance, and climb as needed Weekend and overtime work may be required Additional physical tasks may be required based on operational needs
