Cedar Crest/D-line Burlington, NC Job Details Company Background Alamance is recognized as a leading manufacturer of aerosol whipped cream, flavored drinks, freeze pops, and bottled water, offering beloved brands like Classic Cream, Fun Pops, Coffee Toppers, Whipt, and Groovy Glacier. We produce, pack and ship private labels based on customer specific needs. Position Opportunity The role involves a range of tasks associated with the front-line team, focused on improving departmental performance across multiple production lines within the facility. Responsibilities include engaging in laboratory processes to maintain food quality and safety standards, while functioning as a lead support resource to ensure consistency in execution across lines. This position requires the ability to step in where needed, prioritize critical quality tasks, and support overall operational efficiency. This position offers the chance to work with a diverse array of lab equipment and techniques, while collaborating with quality lab technicians of different experience levels and providing guidance as needed. It also provides an opportunity to express your passion for laboratory quality and apply your knowledge to enhance food quality and safety across various product types while supporting multiple production lines. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Perform routine quality control testing on aerosol dairy products, including physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies across all assigned production lines. Conduct sensory evaluations and assist in product development trials. Maintain accurate records of tests and results, generating reports as required. Capable of carrying out daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures. Maintain adherence to safety regulations and best practices, promoting a culture of safety within the laboratory. Support multiple production lines as needed, ensuring timely completion of quality tasks and consistency in execution. Capable of determining exposure or potential impacts to product quality and communicating improvements with leadership. Provide guidance and support to other lab technicians to ensure alignment with quality standards and expectations. Demonstrate basic computer skills required for the position - Excel spreadsheets, Word, and basic ability to read and manipulate drawings. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies, equipment, and maintenance activities as needed, in coordination with leadership. Communicate with various departments across the organization to support quality and operational alignment. Ensure accurate and timely documentation recording of experimental data. Troubleshoot technical issues and equipment malfunctions, reporting any needed repairs and maintenance with appropriate personnel. Apply 80/20 principles to daily operations to prioritize high-impact quality tasks. Maintain calibration of all quality control equipment and measurement devices. Stay up to date with advancements in laboratory techniques, technologies, and regulatory requirements, and adapt to relevant improvements. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory guidelines. Prepare and maintain reports, records, and documentation related to laboratory operations, experiments, and safety procedures. Perform daily/weekly data verification of laboratory binder books, quality paperwork, and production paperwork, identifying and correcting discrepancies prior to filing. Ensure retention samples are properly collected and maintained based on production requirements. Capable of creating Hold Tags as required after training. Capable of carrying out proper documentation of any destruction of goods when requested after training. Perform other related duties as assigned. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and knowledge sharing among peers. Qualifications Bilingual with Spanish and English preferred but not required. Knowledge of and adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Demonstrated understanding of laboratory data and quality systems. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact across teams. Capable of lifting around 30 pounds. Committed to maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and ethical work environment. Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and scientific advancements. Ability to operate across multiple production lines and adapt to shifting priorities.Education/Training/Certifications:
High school diploma or higher with experience in Quality or related field preferred.Travel Requirements:
