Job Description

Position Summary SEI Technologies is seeking a Inspection and Quality Systems Leader to join our leadership team and drive quality performance across our aerospace and defense manufacturing operation. You will serve as the technical authority for inspection and measurement while owning key aspects of our AS9100 Quality Management System. Working closely with operations, engineering, customers, and suppliers, you will help ensure product conformity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. We are willing to train the right candidate in Quality Systems or CMM programming. However, strong blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and precision measurement experience are essential. Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & Quality Assurance (Primary Focus) Perform and oversee incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections Develop and maintain inspection plans for precision machined aerospace and defense components Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements Inspect and validate features held to tolerances as tight as ±0.0002" Utilize precision measurement equipment including micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators, depth mics, and other inspection tools Support production with timely inspection feedback and disposition decisions Investigate nonconformances and lead root cause and corrective action efforts Work directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence Support AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and product traceability requirements Quality Systems Leadership Maintain and improve the AS9100 Quality Management System Own quality procedures, work instructions, and controlled documentation Plan and conduct internal audits Coordinate NCRs, CARs, RCCAs, RMAs, and customer corrective actions Lead external audits, customer audits, and surveillance audits Track, analyze, and report quality performance metrics Facilitate management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Serve as the primary quality liaison for customers, suppliers, and auditors Advanced Inspection Technology Program and operate CMM equipment (Mitutoyo MCOSMOS preferred) Develop inspection routines and measurement strategies for new products Support vision system programming and automated inspection methods Drive improvements in inspection efficiency and capability QualificationsRequired 5+ years of quality or inspection experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision manufacturing environments Expert ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Proven experience inspecting complex machined components with tight tolerances Strong proficiency with precision measurement equipment and inspection methods Experience leading root cause investigations and corrective actions Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments High attention to detail, accountability, and ownership Preferred AS9100 or
ISO 9001
Quality Management System experience Internal auditing experience CMM programming experience (MCOSMOS preferred) Experience with FAIRs (AS9102) Experience with ERP systems such as ProShop Experience working directly with aerospace customers and suppliers Why This Role Matters As a member of the leadership team, you will help shape the quality culture of the organization.
