Pay Rate:
$25.66/hr # of openings: 1 Now Hiring a Quality Lab Technician at our Jacksonville, North Carolina manufacturing plant. This role will report directly to the QC Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Performs established physical, chemical, and functional testing on raw materials and finished products. Prepares equipment and samples for analysis; interprets lab results. Operates and maintains instrumentation including setup and calibration. Records and maintains quality assurance records and files including notebooks and data sheets. Assists with maintenance of equipment and supply inventories. Reads drawings, engineering test specifications and inspection instructions to obtain product information for inspection/testing. Measures dimensions as specified. Examines material or product for cosmetic or other designated nonconformities. Compares product with engineering drawing/shop orders/routing or engineering-approved samples (if applicable) to ensure compliance. Verifies product labeling. Identifies rejected material and segregates/marks it to prevent it from getting mixed with acceptable product. Assures conformance to all procedures and requirements applicable to job function. Reports findings to QC Lab Supervisor/Quality Manager. May be required to work outside of normal work hours. The Jacksonville plant is currently working a 4 day, 10 hour work week. Qualifications Special knowledge, skills and ability requirements: General knowledge of: principles of organic and inorganic chemistry including qualitative and quantitative analysis. modern laboratory procedures. operation and care of specialized laboratory equipment and personal computer. lab instrumentation (gas chromatographs, infrared spectrometers). Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP) Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to:
perform multiple tasks simultaneously. work independently and adapt to changing priorities. interact with employees at all organizational levels. read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings and specifications, procedures, manuals, and inspection sampling tables. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of
ISO-9001
is a definite plus. Education and Experience Requirements Minimum 2-year degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology or equivalent. 0-2 years' experience in a laboratory setting. Working knowledge of instruments and equipment calibration experience desirable. Strong scientific and mathematical skills. #LI-MI1 #
