Job Description

Position Description The Quality Technician is the hands-on specialist in one or more Quality functions central to the Prince Manufacturing Quality System. Each function provides direct support either to our internal departments or our customers. The primary goal is to minimize Prince Manufacturing's incurred costs or inefficiencies from variability or non-conformances in any of these areas, through prevention-based quality management. Primary Responsibilities A Quality Technician will have a primary focus and expertise in one Quality function, and a secondary focus and expertise in at least one additional Quality function. The Quality functions are as follows:
Fabrication:
This function supports operations by responding quickly to any reported potential quality problems with purchased material, investigating to root cause, and escalating the issue to the source.
Powder:
This function supports operations by adding value to visual inspection.
E-Coat:
This function supports operations by adding value to visual inspection.
Assembly:
This function supports operations by addressing quality issues related to assembly. All quality technicians, regardless of their primary specialty, will be proficient in basic measurement and inspection, and will always facilitate the efficient production of high-quality conforming material for our customers. Timely support and follow-up to issues impacting manufacturing operations Accurate and timely analysis of suspect product (supplied, internal, customer) Accurate, timely inspection and documentation Set the standard of professionalism and excellence in inspection, analysis, follow-up Professional communication with Prince Manufacturing and external interfaces Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly line setup, preferred. Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, data manipulation. The ability to operate common measuring and inspection equipment. Ability to read and interpret blue prints. Must be able to work in a team environment and have initiative. The position is responsible for a great deal of self-driven, proactive work. This individual must be effective at working in a self-guided manner. Development Skills and/or Training to be provided after entering position Specific technical training content regarding primary and secondary assignments. Disciplined problem solving / failure analysis of materials and processes, including manufacturing troubleshooting. Record keeping experience preferable. Required Education Associates (2 year) Technical Degree, further formal technical training preferred. 2+ years' experience in a quality position in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Preferred Elements Microsoft Office Software Physical Requirements In performing the essential elements of this position, the following physical activities are required. The activities are measured in the amount of on-the-job time that is spent performing these activities.
