JOB SUMMARY

Hog Slat, Inc. is the world's leading provider of parts, equipment and turn-key construction to the swine & poultry industries. Our Hog Slat brand of steel penning and feeding equipment is designed and tested by our in-house team of engineers. It is important that prior to distribution of those parts, they have been quality checked for accuracy. This position will be based in our Steel Equipment Fabrication Plant in Newton Grove, NC from 3pm-11pm. Familiarization with the swine and poultry industries is preferred. Experience in product inspection is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change. Mechanical Inspection of machined, welded, plated, painted or assembled products Identify quality issues and take quick corrective action Communicate quality control information to all relevant departments, outside vendors or contractors Work with Manufacturing and Engineering departments to ensure quality requirements and expectations are fully met Document inspection results Tracking of returned products, defects, test results and other regularly reported control data Grade, classify and sort defective products Collect and maintain quality data

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

The ideal candidate will have the following experience/educational background: Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) years of Inspection related experience Working Knowledge of MS Office Software (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) Operating Knowledge of Test and Measurement Equipment like calipers & micrometers Good mechanical and electrical aptitude Ability to read and interpret written processes, routers and procedures in English and learn workflow/inspection requirements Ability to read and understand CAD blueprints/drawings and to compare with live product and ensure conformance Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively Experience working in Lean System/Six Sigma environment preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in technical writing Hog Slat Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, age disability, veteran status or any other reason prohibited under Federal State or local laws.
