Position Summary:
The Quality Control Technician ensures the integrity and safety of both raw ingredients and finished goods through rigorous inspection, testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety standards and quality assurance practices in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Inspections & Product Testing:
Inspect incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods for compliance with company and regulatory standards. Perform various quality samples on raw materials and finished products, including moisture content, purity, and foreign material detection. Document test results and analyze data to identify trends and potential quality issues.
Documentation & Reporting:
Ensure that all quality control activities follow industry regulations and company policies, including food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP). Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control measures, including detailed reports and logs. Prepare and review quality documentation, including certificates of analysis and quality reports.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other relevant standards. Participate in internal audits and inspections and assist with the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Problem Resolution:
Identify and investigate quality issues, working closely with production staff to determine root causes and implement solutions. Assist in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence of quality issues. Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Training & Support Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards, inspection procedures, and best practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement and suggesting solutions. Occasional support at nearby processing facilities Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience in a quality assurance or quality control role Understanding of food safety regulations, GMP, HACCP, and quality assurance principles. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues. Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in Quality Assurance or Food Safety, such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or HACCP certification, is a plus. Willingness to learn and grow within Quality Control Experience with sunflower seed processing or similar food production processes. Knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques and methods.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and food-grade equipment. Some flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate schedules and quality inspections.
