Job Description
Overview The Scale Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our distribution center. This position involves accurately weighing and recording materials, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations and a strong attention to detail, contributing to the overall productivity and accuracy of our logistics processes. Duties Operate and maintain scale equipment for weighing incoming and outgoing shipments. Ensure accurate recording of weight data in the warehouse management system. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to manage inventory levels and order picking processes. Assist in loading and unloading materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as necessary. Perform regular inspections of scales and equipment to ensure proper functionality. Adhere to safety protocols while handling heavy lifting tasks within the warehouse environment. Support the overall organization of the distribution center by maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. Skills Proficiency in operating cranes and forklifts is highly desirable. Experience with order picking and familiarity with warehouse management systems. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively. Knowledge of distribution center operations, including inventory management practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when recording data. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors. Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods within our facility, ensuring that all operations run smoothly while meeting high standards of quality and efficiency.
