Job Description

QC Inspector Team Lead SHIFT :
Monday•Thursday, 6:00 am•4:30 pm (OT as required)
PAY RATE
: $33.69•$36+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefits Package
LOCATION
: West Fargo, ND The QC Inspector Lead will oversee and manage the daily activities of the quality inspection team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet high-quality standards, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition. Follow all company safety and quality requirements. Lead and supervise a team of quality inspectors to ensure timely and accurate product inspections. Perform and oversee regular product inspections at various stages of production, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Document and report inspection results, defects, and non-conformities in SharePoint Quality Database. Identify areas for improvement in quality control processes and provide recommendations for corrective actions. Train, mentor, and coach quality inspectors to enhance their skills and ensure consistency in inspection practices. Follow all necessary TNS Document System procedures and processes. Maintain and update the quality control documentation and records for traceability and auditing purposes. Address quality-related issues on the production floor, quickly identifying the root cause and implementing corrective actions. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve production efficiency, and optimize overall product quality. Document and segregate non-conforming material and workmanship. Able to apply problem solving techniques and/or root cause analysis. Ability to evaluate coating application processes, including mixing, application techniques, and environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity), to ensure compliance with specifications. Oversee and/or perform tests such as dry film thickness (DFT), adhesion, holiday detection, and visual inspections to confirm coating integrity and performance. Prompt and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned. Applicable welding standards knowledge such as:
AWS, ASME.
Understanding of industry standards (e.g., AMPP, SSPC, ASTM, ISO) related to coatings. Ability to achieve
AMPP CIP1
certification if needed. Ability to achieve AWS CWI if needed. Ability to achieve City of LA Quality Control Inspector if needed. Ability to receive NDT certifications as applicable. Proficient in blueprint/drawing reading. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams). Accept responsibility and account for his/her actions and areas of responsibility. Perform work accurately and thoroughly. Communicate effectively. Allocate authority and/or task responsibility to appropriate people. High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in quality control. Knowledge of quality standards, regulatory requirements, and inspection techniques. Previous welding inspection experience required.
