Job Description

Position Title:
Quality Assurance - Mechanical Inspector Job Description SUMMARY Under limited supervision performs part inspections using a wide variety of tools and techniques. This will require an ability to read simple blueprints and judgment to determine acceptability and to recommend action be taken within established procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Work with Machinists, Operators, and Engineering to inspect manufactured and received product utilizing industry standard best practice. Perform incoming inspection, in-process inspection and testing as required by the Work Instructions and PO's. Prepare reports based on measurements performed. Reports include, but are not limited to, FAI (First Article Inspection), first piece inspection, final inspection, and incoming inspection. Assure non conforming product dispositions are carried out. Perform final inspection and testing as required by the Work Instructions and drawings. Maintain all Quality Records Assist in maintaining accurate, up to date, Work Instructions. Approve machine set-ups for first piece accuracy, monitor ongoing production process performance and make lot acceptance/reject decisions. Initiate rejection reports for non-conforming materials and ensure proper completion of required documentation. Well organized. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience working within an AS9100 quality management system a plus The ability to use specialized tools and computer coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) required Knowledge and experience in industrial manufacturing is required. Must possess the ability to read and analyze blueprints. Understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) a plus. Must possess working knowledge and experience utilizing the following measuring equipment: Micro hite, Calipers, Micrometers, Comparator, gage pins, thread gauges, pitch mics, blade mics, depth mics, gauge blocks, test indicators. Good judgment. Well organized. Good decision making skills. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Associates degree or minimum of (3) years' industry experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. •
