In this energetic position, you will oversee coating applications, conduct detailed inspections, and collaborate with construction management teams to uphold project specifications. Your keen eye for detail and strong analysis skills will help maintain excellence throughout every phase of the construction process, ensuring durable, high-quality finishes that meet contractual requirements. This is a working QC position meaning journeyman level work with the crew in between QC work.
THIS IS A UNION POSITION SO YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ALREADY HAVE A JOURNEYMAN LEVEL POSITION WITH YOUR LOCAL UNION OR THE SKILLSET TO JOIN THE LOCAL BUFFALO UNION AS A JOURNEYMAN.
Duties Perform comprehensive quality inspections of coating applications on construction sites, verifying adherence to project specifications and safety standards. Collect and analyze data related to coating thickness, surface preparation, and curing processes to ensure consistent quality. Monitor construction activities to identify potential issues early, providing immediate feedback to contractors and management. Document inspection results meticulously, maintaining accurate records for compliance and project tracking purposes. Collaborate with construction teams to resolve quality issues promptly, recommending corrective actions when necessary. Review contracts and technical specifications to ensure coating work aligns with client expectations and industry standards. Conduct regular site visits to oversee construction progress, ensuring quality control measures are consistently applied across all phases. Experience NACE or CIP level 1 minimum required Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on coatings or surface treatments. Strong background in construction management, quality control, or construction inspection roles. Familiarity with quality inspection techniques, data collection methods, and analysis skills related to construction projects. Knowledge of contracts, safety protocols, and industry standards relevant to coatings and surface preparation. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents accurately. Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with contractors, project managers, and clients. Prior experience in conducting construction inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards is highly desirable.
