Job Summary:
The Quality Control Lead is responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure all materials and finished products meet established standards. This role performs inspections, testing, and evaluations while guiding team members on quality expectations and best practices. The Quality Control Lead plays a key role in identifying defects, driving process improvements, and maintaining compliance with company specifications to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Lead and perform quality control inspections, checks, and testing throughout the production process Inspect, test, and measure raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods Interpret job specifications and ensure alignment with quality standards Make final determinations on accepting or rejecting materials Identify defects and ensure removal of non-conforming products Audit and spot-check outgoing shipments for quality and packaging compliance Oversee rework or repack processes for damaged materials Manage and take ownership of the quarantine area, including disposition decisions Provide direction and support to team members on quality expectations and best practices Document inspection results and communicate findings clearly to leadership Recommend and drive process and production improvements Partner with Quality Control Manager, quality technicians, and production teams Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required 1+ years of experience in a quality inspection or manufacturing role (lead or senior experience preferred) Strong working knowledge of quality control processes and standards Ability to use measurement tools (tape measures, gauges, microscopes, and testing equipment) Basic math and reading comprehension skills Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Demonstrated ability to lead by example and influence others Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
