Job Description

QUALITY ENGINEER
Engineering Manufacturing Technologies ("EMT") is a metal component manufacturer located near Binghamton, NY. Our manufacturing facility is over 130,000 sq. ft. and we employ over 100 personnel. EMT has been in business for over 75 years and our manufacturing processes include Punch Press Stampings, Sheet Metal Fabrications, CNC Machining & Turned parts and Assembly & Fulfillment. EMT is known as a leader in our industry and our manufacturing facility houses the "most state of the art" equipment. Our continued growth in the automotive, aerospace, commercial/industrial, DOD, firearm, and pharmaceutical industries requires EMT to hire an experienced Quality Engineer. The person that we hire will provide value-added quality expertise in the development of our quality management system and help drive our company in achieving our growth and expansion plans. We are looking for an aggressive self-starter who has the ability and drive to:
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with
AS9100/ISO 9001
standards and other relevant regulations.
  • Prepare, schedule and conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
  • Work closely with other departments to develop quality processes and procedures and problem solve compliance issues.
  • Collect, create and analyze measurement data for SPC, Gage Studies, Capability Analysis and other 6 Sigma methodologies.
  • Provide training and support to employees on quality processes and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly reports for KPI/Cost of Quality meetings.
  • Daily monitoring of all departments to ensure all documentation complies with our Quality Management System.
  • Manage and maintain all quality documentation (i.e. NCP, SCAR, RMA, and CI logs).
  • Prepare annual reports for the Management Review Meeting; maintain the agenda and the minutes of the meeting.
  • Coordinate customer and third-party audits to include annual
AS9100D/ISO 9001
maintenance/ recertification audits.
  • Assist with the creation of required documentation for PPAP/FAIR's.
  • Program CMMs using PC-DMIS and train quality technicians on prior setup and execution.
  • Operate CMMs for measurement data collection and analysis.
  • Take charge of complicated or critical inspection tasks.
  • Mentor quality technicians on proper inspection methods and print interpretation.

  • Experienced support staff Minimum Requirements of the position are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management and two (2) years of quality control, quality assurance or similar fields experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality processes, audits and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in quality management or related field.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in conducting and managing audits.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
